[LETTER] To. Ms. Milim
To. Kim Mi-Lim PA
Hello, Ms. Jungle!
This is Yeon Jeong. I'm writing this letter in Writing Class.
I first agonied, 'Who should I write to?'
Nice roommates such as Jiwoo, Min-Ah, Si-Hyeon and Ju-Hyeon could be one, but I decided to write to you, Ms. Jungle.
First, Ms. Jungle, you are so pretty!
When I first saw you, my preconception of KMLA students was broken.
I thought most of the students' face would be fulfilled with pimple and...you know, kind of face like that.
Nevertheless, it wasn't true. You let me know that KMLA students can also be 'good-looking'.
I once asked you(yesterday, actually), "How can I enter KMLA?"
You replied, "Do your best on the works that are given to you now."
Then I told you, "Oh. It's too abstact and formal words, Milim PA!"
And you continued, "Think, it's not abstact. When you are faced to mid-term, you should try hard on your mid-term. When it's period to study and prepare TEPS or TOEFL, you have to work on it!"
At the moment, I couldn't understand your words clearly and thought still it was 'abstract'.
However, this morning, suddenly your words BOOMED to me, and I soon realized that your advice was useful. 'I shoud concentrate on present and future.' That was the thought I could get from your advice.
Thank you Milim PA for hopeful advice and I would study hard!
So maybe one day, we can meet in KMLA.
Bye.
Sincerly,
Yeon Jeong

[Book Review] An Aimless Bullet
How about an old woman screaming 'Let's go! Let's go!' for whole midnight?
They are the characters of 'An Aimless Bullet' by Lee Beom Seon.
If you want to know the life after the War 6.25, I recommend you to read this book.
An Aimless Bullet is a story about people who suffers pain after War 6.25.
Main character named Song Cheol Ho is an intelligent and hard working man.
Nevertheless, he always have to suffer poverty because he got less pay.
He has conflicts between his brother Young Ho and sister Myeong Sook because of different points of view of earning money. Because of those conflicts and the distressing realities lead Mr. Song to face miserable ending.
I can't tell you the ending of the book but I can tell you that I could understand and recognize the actuality of war from reading this book.
Lee Beom Seon, the author of the book is writing the story in the negative point of view of war.
He lively depicts misery which should be suffered by the simplified characters just after the war.
For an instance, he showed Mrs. Song eating peel to get over hunger and be extremely pleased of getting a pair of shabby red shoes. After reading this book, I got interested in the War 6.25 and seriousness of poverty.
How will Mr. Song get seperated from his family?
How will the story end? Happy ending? Sad ending?
Well, if you want to know the cruelty of war, picking An Aimless Bullet up would be a best choice.

[FICTION] Weird Place
<The Weird Place>
Class 22
Lee yeoun jung/ Lee Jiwoo
2004.12.31
Dear DIARY,
Nowadays I feel I'm isolated from them.
They don't need me anymore, I'm getting smaller.
The time is drawing closer...
ps- I'm waiting for rainy days.
As I expected, he believe in heresy. This is the first thought I had after reading a diary. Diary was my grandpa's who was involved in heresy. I was living without thinking about him for a long time. 7years have passed but none of my family mentioned him. He was once a very nice grandpa, carrying a yellow cane which I gave, just like the normal grandfather. Nevertheless he believed in uncivilized religion and showed unique symptoms-just like a patient who was suffering in herisity. Uh, thinking about him makes me deranged. I'll just gonna sleep.
I got up and felt only the silence is circling around me. Something different from the ordinary days, because there were no "Meow" from White. White, my cat always makes a noise and let me wake up. Yet, I got up myself today . That's weird. But more weird thing, that the place where I slept , was not in my bed but the cozy place. Felt wet, I could see hundreds of foot prints. " What is going on now!" First, I woke up and looked around me. Trees which are the tallest I've ever seen are all around me and everything was green. Sparsely, there are some flowers which were smelled sweet. I guessed that it is kind of forest. UNBELIEVABLE. What's happening to me? Beforehand, I'll follow that tiny footsteps.

I decided to follw the millions of tiny footprints. Unfortunately, I tripped over in a big pebble. I got a big injury in my left knee. "Bloody hell...." Soon I found a long long desert. "What am I supposed to deal with it!!!" Unavoidably, I started to step forward every one step. The desert was long and my energy decreased. "Oh GOD, I shouldn't have follow those millions of tiny footprints. Suddenly, I got wet by a huge waterfall. “It really makes me feel bad... ..." A small puddle became a large river and water was from the sky. I could not have enough time to consider about what should I do next. I just swept away from another side of the desert. I couldn't breathe or open my eyes, I could just say "PLEASE!!!! Please help me! Does anybody here?" Actually, I cannot remember the next thing which happened to me. When I opened my eyes I could see the white shaggy, tangled and lanky vall of strings. I thought that I was up in the sky beside the white cloud. I thought that I am a dead person. However the feelings were wicked. " If I am a dead person, why do I feel really tired and so damped??" Also the white shaggy thing was shaking powerfully. So I got surprised and horrified. I couldn't just accept this situation which I was undergoing.
Next day came, I laid down at the piles of dry grass. As I woke up, I felt a deathly hunger.
"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!"
Huge explosion in my stomach roared. In earnest, I started to find my supplements so that I wouldn't go off into faint or death. Nothing greeted my eyes. I couldn't find anything for my meal. Everything was terrible. I could find some water puddles, seasoned plants or some damped flower leaves.
"I would rather die to eat these!"
I shouted myself. Walked for a long time. I could finally find a long, green and yellow grass leaf. This is not the thing that I was looking for, but, it looked quite EATABLE. Do-or-die, I closed my eyes and swallowed them. It was terrible.
"Help me god. Help me Grandpa."
"Help me god. Help me Grandpa."
I was confused why did I called grandpa, still, too hungry to think more. I tried to sleep, and the third day that I was enclosed in forest came. No more strength to stay alive. It's even hard to stand up and think. Hunger, the only word floating on my head. Feel disgusting when I think of the meal I had yesterday. Colored green and unsavory leaves that I have eaten yesterday makes me feel disgusting. Why should I be here? Why should I suffer such pain? I just rolled my eyes and found a small lake. Hollow cheeks were seen.
Suddenly, the white animal jumped and came to me.
"Why are you looking at me, animal?"
White animal starred at me and came closer.
"Oh! Please don't do this."
"Why are you here, Master?"
"Master? What do you mean? And how can you speak? You are just a big and white beast."
"You are understanding my words. I am not actually talking to you."
Am I dead? How can I listen words from that beast? I made my eyes big and the beast laughed at me.
"Master. You should believe me. You are my master!"
"I'm not a master of beast like you. You are too fat and gigantic for me."
"You're mean."
"You're big."
"I'm not big. You just got smaller, man."
What? Oh, this is it. I finally recognized that I got smaller than before I did! FINALLY.
"And this is your..."
"HOUSE!"
We shout out at the same time and laughed. Can't, never logically accept this situation. Still, I'm too delightful to see alive thing, moreover it's my sweetie pet! White continued explaining the situation such as, I was confused in my garden and the tiny footsteps were the holes which were made by White. The desert was the sand castle which I made before and the lake was just a puddle because of the raindrops. It was somewhat incredible and wicked adventure.
Now I understand my grandpa's journal. He was talking about relationships between himself and family, not things like heresy. He couldn't do anything. One day, he felt he became too small and not important anymore- exactly the same emotion I am getting from this adventure in my garden. I should have known his mind, as a grandson. Nevertheless, I forgot something important. Why did I become so small?

Volunteer
What kind of volunteer works have you done before? You may have done volunteer works in two ways- directly or indirectly. You may have visited orphans and old people who are lonely, and that's volunteering directly. Then what's volunteering indirectly? Raising fund for people who lost house since the earthquake is an way of volunteering indirectly. I have only tried volunteering indirectly for the past several years. Nevertheless, the chance that I could volunteer directly came once. It was when I was a 1st grader in middle school. The experience granted me three lessons.
One of my friends named Da-eun suggested that me to go to the church where took care of children who need care during daytime. First I felt joy. The reason was that I always dreamed of helping children who needs help. I rode the friend's mom's car and arrived the church. Church was quite big and I went to the room which only accepts children. I first mopped the floor with my friend. After sweeping and mopping the floor (it was also a first experience!), my next duty was to teach children. I taught Korean to a child who aged same with my younger sister. She was 3rd grader but couldn't read Korean words! This fact let me feel that me and my sister were fortunate children because we were educated timely. I was so shocked, nevertheless, composured myself and taught her with a textbook which was given by the church. She followd my words at the first but she was loosing her confidence. It was because she was memorizing the answers. I understood her mind and quietly picked a storybook, which was a behavior not allowed to me. Still I thought that the textbook was too boring and inefficient stuff to learn language. As I expected, she was having much fun learing with storybooks. Even a principal of the church praised about my choice. The second lesson I got from is that learning by stuff which is fun and related to real life can obtain good results. When I finished my duties in the church, the girl I taught suddenly came out and gave a picture card. It was a card which she was truly prized of, but gave it to me. Me, who just smiled and taught a bit, got one's prized possession. I got the third lesson, 'Children need love'.
Unfortunately, I lost the card while I moved house, still I remeber memory between us and the lessons I got from volunteering. To repeat the lessons, I was a fortunate child who was educated timely, and the best text book is a stuff which is related to the real life. Lastly, children really needs love. Volunteer works gave me such invaluable lessons. After GLPS, I'm going to start volunteering again.

My Dorm
This is what I thought when I first woke up in my dormitory. Yellowish wall paper was fulfilling my views
instead of my room's white wall paper. There were wide windows which were full of color green. Also the blanket smelled different from mine in the house! I recognized that the place I was sleeping was not my roon, the dormitory in GLPS. First day made me quite frightened like this, but it's now the cozy place I can stay. I want to introduce my lovely dorm to you.
Firstly, there were two rooms in a dorm. Three people can get into each rooms. Because three people are accepted in a room, three desks, three beds, and three lamps are prepared for the students who stay there. The unique point of the room is that a desk and a bed are connected. When we climb up the ladder, we can reach to the bed. It's an effective structure for the small room. Bed is quite firm, but when you are used to it, it feels comfortable. There are long closets in the room but they are not the closets we can use. Closets we can use is in a hall-which is too short to call the hall. Each person can possess two parts of the closets and it's big enough to save all your clothings. Still it is a case when you arrange clothings clean with hangers. Also there is a bathroom which furnishes two shower rooms. I could make a good habit, waking up early, to use the shower rooms. (Because there are only two shower rooms for 6 people!) Morning bell rings before seven. The songs which come out for the bell are all too noisy, but it's effective to make students wake up early who oversleep. Wide windows grants beautiful view of 횡성. The view of countryside is not anymore strange, but makes me feel fresh. In my opinion, the weak force of water in shower rooms and the limited electricity-using time should be reformed. And they would make our dorm much better place to stay.
Even it's totally different from my room, I love my dorm. Not only the convenient(?) facilities, but also lovely friendship between roommates are fulfilling the dormitory warmely. Also the roommate's eager of studying makes my dorm brighter. I'll miss my dorm at the end GLPS and after I get to sleep in my room.

About Me !
Hello, everyone. Introducing myself always makes me interested even its contents are always the same, such as hometown, likes and dislikes, etc. To commenmorate my new blog and to be fun, I am gonna introduce myself to you. My name is Yeonjeong Lee. Firstly, I was born in Busan-not living anymore- in May. To be detailed, the day I was born is the last day of May. Because it's easy to remember, people I got to know, all remember my birthday. I lived in Grandma's house when I was an infant. I loved playing with mom after I grew up a bit. I often walked along the edge of stream with mom. Therefore, I have numerous pictures that I have taken with my mom in stream. From that pictures, I could know that I loved to wear one-piece dress when I was young. Secondly, there are many things I love and enjoy. I loves travelling and taking photos. I have travelled several countries. The most interesting country I travelled is Singapore. I still remember Batam Island(located in Singapore) which was extremely beautiful. The Merlion, the symbol of Singapore,in the Island impressed me. The cleanliness and small numebers of cars in Singapore made me feel pleased during the journey. Every trip grants common lesson that 'HOME IS THE BEST'. The reason why I love trip is because trip is enjoyable and makes me to look myself back. And my favorite food is chocolate. As I loved chocolate, I even forgot the promise with my friends eating chocolates. But as I grew up, the interest of chocolate got cooled down.
Lastly, my future goal is to be a judge. I heard the words that 'For the poor people, law is even frigid'. When I heard that, at first, I was young, I was unconcerned about it. Nevertheless, when I spotted some cases, I got shocked. I promised myself that I would be a judge and be the side of the poor. What I should do now to achieve my goal is to study hard. Then I will enter law school and pass bar exam. After that backbreaking process, I need 2 years to get trained to be a judge. To be a judge, I need to rank about 1~2nd place in liberal arts in highschool. To accomplish my preferred dream, I should work hard. This was a short introduction of me.
